As part of its ongoing effort to maximize potential for its private clients, Sanders Morris Harris has since 1996 developed a series of pooled investments: The SMH Private Equity Funds. The common thread tying the funds together is their emphasis on securities often absent from traditional mutual-fund portfolios - specifically, equity and equity-linked securities of late-stage private and small public companies, led by dynamic management teams with long-term vision. These are precisely the investments that we believe often carry the highest potential returns.

The funds that we have developed thus far have been structured as closed-end limited partnerships, to encourage individuals to hold the investment for the long term. While most of the funds are now closed to new investment, SMH will continue to develop new pooled vehicles over time, tailored to meet the needs of private clients.
